Trumpet/Composer - Eddie Lewis
maintains an active musical career maintaining a
balance between classical and jazz performance
along with composition. His classical
performance experience includes the El Paso
Symphony Orchestra and the Bravado Brass
Quintet. In jazz performance, Eddie has
performed at the Montruex Jazz Festival, the
Paris Jazz Festival and currently leads his own
group, "Living Rhythms", which
performs in various regional festivals including
the Galveston Jazz Festival and the Texas Jazz
Festival in Corpus Christi. Eddie has written
almost three hundred original compositions, many
of which receive performances across the
country.
Contributions to the Texas Brass
from Eddie include major works on the
"Sounds of the South" CD including TEXAS,
written for the Texas Brass and GUMBO
MAGIC, written for tuba operator, Dave Kirk.
His latest classical work THREE FAMOUS SOLDIERS
was premiered at Rice University's Stude Concert
Hall by the Texas Brass and will be the flagship
of the Texas Brass next CD: Chophouse.
