Tuba - David Kirk has served as Principal
Tubist of the Houston Symphony since 1982. He
has been a guest performer with the Boston,
Chicago, and San Antonio symphonies. Since
coming to Houston, Mr. Kirk has taught at Rice
University's Shepherd School of Music, where he
is presently an Associate Professor. He was on
the faculty of the University of Houston's
Moores School of Music from 1989-1993.
Mr. Kirk
has given master classes at the Cleveland
Institute of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory, New
England Conservatory, The Texas Music Festival,
the American Conservatory for the Arts and the
New World Symphony. Dave is beginning his first
season with the Chautaugua Symphony in western
N.Y. and hopes to make this orchestra his new
summer gig.
